A leading provider of environmental services including solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services is currently seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager in Bangor, ME. The Maintenance Manager plans, organizes, directs, and manages the Division''s maintenance function in order to maintain a safe, reliable, and cost effective fleet of vehicles and/or equipment and/or adequate supply of containers. The position is responsible for 20 trucks and 2 employees. This is a working manager position - it will entail 50% management and 50% wrenching.
Waste industry experience is highly preferred.
We need someone with very strong interpersonal skills, very detail oriented and very organized.
Required:
Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification and three years of vehicle, equipment and hydraulic maintenance experience; OR 7 years of vehicle, equipment and hydraulic maintenance experience.
Two years experience as a supervisor, manager or other leadership role
VERY strong knowledge and experience with computer and systems usage
Work experience in a highly interactive and demanding corporate environment
Demonstrable skills in self organization, planning, prioritizing, follow-up, delegation
Proficiency using internet based and PC based computer applications to record, analyze, and report information
A valid driver''s license with a clean driving record
Work experience in analyzing and diagnosing mechanical, electronic and hydraulic systems.
Work experience in successfully implementing safety programs and processes
Work experience in managing budgets, creating cost projections, prioritizing competing requirements.
Work experience resolving human resource and labor relations issues.
Work experience with environmental compliance (storm water reporting, hazmat manifests, etc).
Thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic electrical systems and equipment maintenance
Thorough understanding and grasp of compliance requirements
Computer proficiency
Good analytical, reasoning and justification skills
Preferred:
Waste industry experience
Mechanical school certificate and/or ASE certification
Valid commercial driver license
Compensation:
$40-50k/year base salary . potential 10-20% bonus (DOE)
