Job
Summary:
This position monitors and distributes overall daily work of accounting within the Business Office.
Provides training and support to staff, department heads and managers regarding financial issues on an ongoing basis.
Applies professional accounting techniques to a variety of problems and uses judgment in allocating charges and credits to proper accounts; provides technical advice and information to other accountants and professionals; confers with staff to exchange information on work policies, procedures, and guidelines; calculates and compiles fiscal data in order to prepare financial reports, budgets and other financial statements, reconciles accounting records with computerized records to determine or verify accuracy of data.
Research, surveys, and collects data to prepare comprehensive reports and creates audit binders.
Assist Director of Finance with budget process and budget revisions.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
Six (6) or more years of experience in budgeting, accounting, audit, and fiscal requirements.
Experience with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
The ability to analyze data, use complex accounting & information systems, design and implement accounting methods and procedures is essential.
Two (2) to Three (3) years of Supervisory experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of fiscal operations and FASB / GASB.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to establish effective working relationships with a diverse public.
Strong supervisory skills such as training, instructing, delegating, and overseeing personnel.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite abilities and experience using a Student Information System (SIS) or other various database systems.
Ability to perform independent assignments.
Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and deal with interruptions.
Previous work within a college setting preferred.
